Teaching Tae Kwon-Do to Children
Class Structure.jpg)
Through many years of teaching children we've found that the best environment to teach martial arts to children is in classes that include adults. These mixed age classes encourage the children to train harder, behave more and become more confident. This also allows for parents to train alongside their children. And this family environment is second-to-none in promoting strong family ties and a common pastime.
Experience
Chief Instructor Liam Broderick started teaching children's classes in 1993. He has trained many children to black belt level and is supported by a teacm of instructors that include Mrs Patricia Finney, who began her training in the 1980s, who is the author of the 'I Jack' children's books.
Cost
Children train for a reduced rate of £20 per month by standing order, which enables them to train four nights a week. Any child that can only make one night a week is entitled to a reduction in this fee. And you get a month completely free to see if your child enjoys our classes before paying anything out!
Progression
Children progress on the same black belt programme as the adults. Certain elements are altered for safety reasons, such as board breaking but essentially children are asked to learn the same techniques and routines. Why hold your child back with a watered down syllabus? We've proven that children are exetremly capable of pregressing through the ranks, learning the discipline, technique and theory and reaching black belt in around 4 years.
Safety
We operate a child protection policy and monitor the children continuously. All instructors are CRB checked. There are always a number of instructors at our classes that ensure the safety and wellbeing of our younger students. Messing about, contact in training and bullying are not tolerated!
Confidence, Success and Moral Standards
Tae Kwon-Do training is great to develop your child's confidence and they get the opportunity to continually succeed. Children also learn about the tenets of Tae Kwon-Do and how they may well enrich their lives:
Courtesy
Integrity
Perseverence
Self-Control
Indomitable Spirit
