Kernow TAE Black Belt Training
Black Belts have acheived proficiency in the basic elements of Tae Kwon-Do training and the black belt ranks are divided into 4 stages:
Kernow TAE Stage 5 (ITF Novice Stage) - 1st Dan to 3rd Dan
Kernow TAE Stage 6 (ITF Expert Stage) - 4th Dan to 6th Dan
Kernow TAE Master Stage (ITF Master Stage) 7th Dan to 8th Dan
9th Dan Grandmaster
Throughout the above stages black belts are focussing on gaining proficiency in the black belt patterns, becoming experts in self-defence and knife-defence training and they also develop themselves as Instructors and Competition Umpires and Referees.
Cornwall Tae Kwon-Do Black Belts

There are some 40 black belts currently training in the Cornwall Tae Kwon-Do GTI schools. These senior grades have a vast amount of knowledge that they are always willing to pass on to coloured belt students. Cornwall boasts many high grades and International Instructors some of whom have been teaching Tae Kwon-Do for over 30 years.
Kernow TAE Black Belts meet every week on Sunday and Wednesday for dedicated black belt training. They also attend black belt events in Cornwall and throughout the UK, to improve their skills and to work towards achieving higher Dan grades. There are no automatic promotions in GTI Tae Kwon-Do and all black belts must prepare and face a gruelling grading under a panel of five Tae Kwon-Do Masters or experts to achieve a higher grade. This ensures that black belts maintain high standards in their own physical ability, their Tae Kwon-Do knowledge and their ability to teach the Art. See black belt biographies here
