Competitions

Competitions are a great fun element to Tae Kwon-Do, where a student can spar against an opponent in the ring or perform a pattern in front of judges. Some comps even allow a demonstration of power as students compete in break boards with an array of hand and foot techniques. See VIDEOS

Competitions help a student to build confidence in their own abilities and to learn from other competitors. And they're a great way to build a network of friends throughout the UK and beyond.

GTI English, 3rd Feb 2008, Worcester

This competition was held at Perdiswell Leisure Centre and a minibus load of students from Cornwall were joined by a number of others that made their own way there. Andrew Robinson of Truro GTI took gold in both patterns and sparring and Pete Yates won his sparring division. Kelly Broderick took a silver in sparring.

Cornish TaeKwonDo Championships 2007

This event was held at Truro Leisure Centre on Sunday 11th November

2007. 56 competitors entered and £1,088 was raised for BBC Children in Need .
