- unifying two great schools of Tae Kwon-Do
Camborne...

The Camborne Tae Kwon-Do Academy badge is a mirror of the Truro badge. The mine is Wheal Rose near Scorrier, which can often be seen silhouetted against a setting sun from the A30. The mine is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the people of Cornwall and this is also symolised in the red colour of badge, which in the Far East is the element Fire or Sun, meaning energy and passion, or a person flowing with life force and power.
The shield on both badges is known as the cornish shield and indicates the 15 golden roundels or bezants that were paid to the Saracens as a ransom to release the Duke of Cornwall who had been captured during the crusades.
The two badges, when superimposed create the red and blue Yin-Yang (or Eum-Yang in Korean) symbol at the centre of the Korean flag. Traditionally this indicates the balance of opposing and complementary forces but in modern terms the Koreans consider this to show the blood of the Korean people flowing into the sea during their years of occupation and oppression.
