To be polite to one’s instructors, seniors and fellow students
 
Integrity (YOM CHI)
To be honest with yourself; to be able to define right and wrong
 
Perseverance (IN NAE)
To never cease in the pursuit of achievements, goals and techniques
 
Self-control (GUK GI)
To live, work and train within your capabilities, with the capacity to realise your own limitations to protect yourself and others from unnecessary harm
 
Indomitable Spirit (BAEKJUL BOOLGOOL)
To show courage when you and your principles are pitted against overwhelming odds
 
 
Feature: Tae Kwon-Do Belt Colours

 

White belt

 

Signifies innocence, as that of the beginning student who has no previous knowledge of Tae Kwon-Do 

 

Yellow Belt

 

Signifies earth, from which a plant sprouts and takes root as the Tae Kwon-Do foundation is being laid

 

 

Green Belt

 

Signifies the plant’s growth as Tae Kwon-Do skills begin to develop

 

 

Blue Belt

 

Signifies the heaven, towards which the plant matures into a towering tree as training in Tae Kwon-Do progresses

 

 

Red Belt

 

Signifies danger, cautioning the student to exercise control, and warning the opponent to stay away

 

 

Black Belt

 

Opposite to white, therefore signifying maturity and proficiency in Tae Kwon-Do. Black belt also indicates the wearer’s imperviousness to darkness and fear
